What makes the 55K different from the 48K model?
The 55K model offers significantly more heating capacity (55,000 BTU vs. 48,000 BTU), a higher HSPF2-4 of 10.6 (vs. 10.0), and most importantly, cold-climate heating down to -22°F (vs. -13°F on the 48K). It’s the better choice for northern climates and areas with harsh winters.

What air handlers are compatible with this condenser?
This condenser is compatible with MRCOOL DIY® 5th Gen wall-mount and cassette air handlers. The combined BTU of all connected air handlers must not exceed 55,000 BTU. Note that two zone ports use a 1/2" suction line while the other four use 3/8" — match your line sets accordingly. Line sets are sold separately.

Can I install it myself?
Yes. Use MRCOOL DIY® pre-charged QuickConnect® line sets (sold separately) for a vacuum-free installation. The only professional you’ll need is a licensed electrician for the electrical hookup.

Does this qualify for tax credits or rebates?
As an Energy Star certified system with a 22 SEER2 and 10.6 HSPF2-4 rating, this unit may qualify for the federal Residential Clean Energy Credit or utility-sponsored rebate programs. Check with your local utility provider and a tax professional for eligibility.
