What makes the Hyper Heat different from the standard DIY 5th Gen?
The Hyper Heat is built for cold climates. It heats reliably down to -22°F (vs. -13°F on the standard 5th Gen) and has a higher HSPF2-4 of 10.0. Cooling also starts at -5°F (vs. -13°F on the standard 5th Gen). If you live in a northern climate with harsh winters, the Hyper Heat is the right choice.
Does this qualify for tax credits or rebates?
Yes — as an Energy Star certified system with a 23.5 SEER2 and 10.0 HSPF2-4, this unit may qualify for the federal Residential Clean Energy Credit or utility rebate programs. Check with your local utility provider and a tax professional for eligibility.
Can I install it myself?
